Scholarship opportunities available for the National Preservation Conference
by Bethany Frank
With the assistance of the Diversity Scholarship Program (DSP) of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, approximately 60 candidates will receive a scholarship to attend the National Preservation Conference this October in Nashville, Tenn.
At the conference, participants will learn the necessary tools to strengthen their commitment and effectiveness in preserving historic places and revitalizing communities through interactive sessions, presentation, informal gatherings, and tours of the host city and surrounding areas.
The DSP’s goal is to increase the diversity of participants at the annual National Preservation Conference and in the preservation movement. The program has provided financial assistance to more than 1,100 individuals since 1992, and it will cover the registration and hotel accommodation costs for the recipients.
Ideal candidates for the program are preservation and community leaders from diverse social, economic, racial, ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Trust employees, partners and advisors are not eligible to apply.
Visit the DSP website to apply and for more information. All applications are due by June 15.
