This is such sad news. Some of my favorite childhood memories are from summer-time visits to Cloutierville. One of the most vivid memories is of the dentist's office which was part of the museum with its scary, primitive tools. I saw an article that said that an old store in town burned in 2004 and I wonder if that is the place we traveled barefoot down the cracked sidewalks under dripping mimosas to buy orange push-ups and Big Red sodas. My mama's childhood home burned several years ago. I don't know if I will ever visit Cloutierville again because everything I remember about the little town is gone.

This is indeed a great loss to the people and town of Cloutierville, I remember this great house as a little girl growning up there, and it indeed will be a great loss.
